OBITUARY.

E. R. GOOD. Mr E. E. Good, one of the oldest and best known public men in Rangiora, died suddenly at his home at Rangiora about 8 a-m. to-day. The late, Mr Good was born in Shropshire, England, in 1850, and crime out- to Lyttelton with, his parents in the ship Royal Stuart in 1800. His father, the late Mr Edward Good, settled in Rangiora in 1856, and Air E. R. Good was educated at Rangiora- and at the old High School, Christchurch. He learned his trade as a draper in the township, where he entered into business on his own . account in 1881. Air Good was first returned to the Rangiora Borough Council in 1878, and was a member of -the council continuously until a- few years ago, being returned ns Alayor in the years 1889, 1896 and 1891- He was also prominently connected with the Rangiora Literary Society, iof which he was secretary and treasurer for many years, and afterwards ocupied the position Of president-
