THEFT OF CLOTHING.
;■* [Pee Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 2. No arrest?, in connection with the thefts of clothing from the Niagara on Saturday have been made by the police. The thefts were committed iust as the passengers had risen from dinner. In all six cabins were entered,. and the value of clothing and other goods stolen ii now estimated at £3OO. As previously stated, a very valuable fur coat winch was among the stolen articles’ was found floating in the harbour near the Niagara, and the police are inclined to believe teat, fearing detection, the thieves dumped the whole of the booty overboard when they learned that* detectives were aboard. Late to-night a boy. reported having found a ladies’ fur floating in the harbour.
