A further development iii connection with (ho mount tragic affair (ln tintransport Pnlcclm occurred at tlio -Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Sergeant Edward 0. F. Marsden was charged with the manslaughter of Ser- I geaut-Major Choate. Tho police asked for a remand. Counsel for the accused said’the military authorities had investigated tho case on Saturday and had allowed the accused to go on condition that ho reported himself to tho police at nine, o’clock this morning. At that hour he went to the police station and was arrested. Tho a reused was remanded until Wednesday, bail being fixed at one surety of £SO.
