THEFTS ON NIAGARA.
♦ TWO STEWARDS CONVICTED. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 2When detectives were investigating the thefts from passengers on the Niagara they found silver valued at £7 and serviette rings valued at £3 10s planted. Two stewards confessed to tho theft of these articles. At the police Court to-day Charles J. Harris, for the theft of silver, and William Harris, for the theft of serviette rings, were each sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour.
