HEAVY GALES.

SHIPPING DELAYED. [Pm Press Association.] DUNEDIN, June 2. The heavy gales which raged in tho Vasuuiu Sea and Pacific last week delayed several vessels- The large collier Jianvon, which left Newcastle on May 21, had a very rough trip of nine days. Although she was swept by heavy seas, only minor damage was done on deck. Tho Australian steamer Glancus, which arrived hero on Friday from Surprise Island, was considerably delayed. The coastal steamers Putiki and Breeze, which loft Wellington last Wednesday, encountered a heavy gale and had to take shelter at Akaron, arriving at Dunedin yesterday morning.
