OPERA HOUSE. At the Opera House to-night another new high-standard programme mill bo presented by the Fuller management. Tile chief attraction will he the tabloid musical comedy, “The Grand Hotel/ - ' representing the fourth production of "Walter George and his merry band of Sunshine Players. It is claimed that this comedy is the best yet presented by the company in Christchurch. Tho story deals with incidents that happen, at a fashionable hotel, and these serve to introduce a. number of humorous situations, dainty ballets and tuneful vocal numbers. Suitable parts have been allotted to the principals, all of whom have by now firmly established themselves in popular favour with Christchurch vaudeville- patrons. The vaudeville lull will be especially attractive. Wallace Bra widow, ,the well known operatic baritone, will make bis first appearance in Christchurch. The engagement of Mr Brownlow on the Fuller circuit is reckoned by the management to bo one of, its most notable bookings of recent years. Mr BroWnlow lias -won thousands of admirers wherever he lias sung, and it is certain that his season here will prove most successful. Burns and Le Clerc will also make a first appearance in a clever, step-dancing turn. Bessie Lester, the American comedienne, who opened her season on Saturday with auspicious success, will he heard in a budget of the latest songs, both humorous and serious. Hu.ghic Ogilvie, the •Scotch comedian, who has entered on the second week of his season here, will _ slug new songs and tell fresh stories. A turn of an acrobatic? order will be presented by Wells and Wells, comedy avilinasts. The box plan is at Messrs Milner and Thompson’s. \ QUEEN'S THEATRE. The new programme at the Queen’s Theatre to-day will be headed by a film in which animals play important partsThe title of the film •is “ Man and Beast,” and it is a, picture that should appeal to both young and old, for not only docs it present interesting sidelights on jungle life, but it also unfolds a. good story, full of human interest.’ The acting of the animals is particularly good. An elephant performs some wonderful feats, whilst the lions and leopards and other beasts provide excitement in abundance. As far as tho human being are concerned, the leading parts arc taken by Eileen Sedgwick, Kingsley Benedict and Park Jones." The “ Dainty” orchestra, which -will provide good music at the evening session, uow consists of Mrs Middleton (conductor and pianist), Miss Cadenhead (violinist), Mr George Ellwood, “ the New Zealand Gerardy ” (’cellist) and Mr A. W. Hutton (flautist). The sessions will commence at 11 a.m. daily, and the programme above outlined will bo shown throughout the current week. LIBERTY THEATRE, Nearly Married,” a Goldwvn comedy, will be the chief item of the new programme at Liberty Theatre today. The popular actress, Madge Kennedy, is seen in the leading role, that of a young bride, who, immediately aider the marriage ceremony, has'a misunderstanding with her * husband an 'd refuses to start ou the honeymoon. A brother of the girl then makes matters worse by advising his sister to seek a divorce.- This she does, although she is still in love with her. husband.
