B. report a, good entry of poultry to-day. Prices were pood, hs there wag a keen demand for all lines. Table chickens realised 5s to 10s Bd, hens 4s to 7s 9d, pullets Gb to Us, ducks Ga to 9s geese 8s to 11s, turkeys 13s to 33s 6d, all per pair. THE EGG MARKET. The egg supply is now very much Increased, and prices are easier.' Sales are very slow, as large buyers are waiting foi the market to roach its minimum. From Wednesday’s listing the Canterbury Egg Circle first grades are is 3d, seconds Is 2d per dozen. LONDON MARKETS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received August 24, 9.33 a.m.) LONDON, August 23. Waihi shaves—Buyers 39s 4d, sellers 40s 7d. The butter and cheese position is unchanged. The terms of purchase of the colonial output are still under discussion, and it is hoped that they will bo settled within, a fortnight. The wheat market is quiet, with no Australian offering in any position. Flour is in strong demand. Normal quantities from overseas, when released, are readily absorbed. No colonial oats are offering. Beans and peas are easier, as the now English crop is coming into the market.
