GERMAN ATTACKS.
BEATEN BACK.
French and English Successes. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April G, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 5. Tire Gormans attacked the British on a wide front in the neighbourhood of Dernancourt, They made slight gains, but suffered heavy casualties. 'Hie Germans also fiercely attacked the French, tho objective being tho Amiens-Clermont railway. Tho attacks failed.
