UTILITY POULTRY CLUB.

At the adjourned mcoting of tho N«J| Zealand Utility Poultry Club last night, OS S. Dick presiding, there was a good attendance of members. Correspondence wag read from Mr R. )uAlexander, Principal at tho Canterbury Agricultural College, agrocing to act, in conjunction with Mr C. C. Cussen, Government poultry expert, as judge in thfl club's eiway competition. , The, Finance Committee's recommendation to hold a utility poultry show on tho Agricultural and Pastoral Association's 6how grounds, in conjunotion with the Metropolitan Show, waa productive of some di»cussion. The idea, mot with a fair amount of support, but members were doubtful of us financial aspect, and eventually it whb decided to refer the matter to tho Show Committee for its dooifdon. It waa docidod that, in the 1920-01 competitione heavy breed* «hould ho required to lay eggs of a uniform weight of Ik ounce* per down, an in the caso with light breeds. After discussion, tho Studholme test was retained, cscopt that the bird* will not be judged as table poultry. A recommendation to set up » permanent experimenting committee was deferred for consideration at next meeting.
