ROLL OF HONOUR.
Eric William Cobeldick, who enlisted with tho Nineteen,h Reinforcements, and who is reported killed in action in Franco on July 2(5, was the eldest son of Mr W. Cobeldick, lato of St Albans and now of Rotoruu, and grandson of tho lato Mr W. Cobeldick, who was for many years clerk of works dn tho building trade in Chridt church. Ho was educated at the St Albans School and at the Christchurch Technical College. Ho was in the warehouso of Messrs Briscoe, Limited, before entering the. Touribt Department at Rotorua, and was just twenty-one years of ago at tho tima of his death. He was a prominent member of the Cranford Hockey Club when in Cbristchurch, and was a very successful competitor jn swimming: and running races when at school. Ho won tho gold medal for tho Marathon Raco at Trentham Camp before leaving New Zealand, and in Franco he won tho silver cup given by the Northumberland Fusiliers for an open mil© race. Later he won three first prizes for long distances at the Now Zealand sports held at the base camp.
