FPer Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 13. James M. W. Hooker, aged fiftyeight, was knocked do»vn in the s J treet by" a Maori who was endeavouring to escape arrest. When pursued by aeonstable, the Maori collided violently with Hooker, who complained of severe pains in the abdomen and leg. He was conveyed to the hospital, wWe he died.
