SIR DOUGLAS HAIG'S REPORT. WORK OF BRITISH AVIATORS. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, August 11, 11.50 p.m. Sir Douglas Haig reports We were slightly driven back at Glencorse Wood. The day's flying finally resulted in six and a haif tons of "bombs being dropped in enemy territory. Fifteen German machines were brought down, and twelve of ours are missing. BRITISH SECURE MINE CRATER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association *nd Reuter. (Received August 13, 2 p.m.) LONDON, August 12. Sir Douglas Haig reports:— The weather is wet. There was strong fighting for tho possession of a mine crater eastward of Gvinchy and Le Basse. We established ourselves in the crater.
The enemy artillery is active east and north of Ypres.
