At the Labour Conference Mr Robin- ; sou (textile workers) moved to accept | the invitation to attend the Stockholm Conference, provided it was consulta- • tive and not mandatory. Mr Carter (miners) seconded the mo- ! tion. j Mr Sexton (docker.-) moved as an | amendment that while agreeing that j Mr Henderson was actuated by a sinjcere desiro to serve the best interest of British democracy, the Conference is j of opinion that no case has been made ' out for the appointment of delegates ' to the Conference, including delegates j from enemy countries, and that tho j Conference should adjourn sine die. I There was great uproar when Mr. J. I Ramsay MacDwiald, M.P., rose to fiupi port tho resolution. | A passage at arms took place between ! Mr AVill Thorno and Mr MacD'onald. The chairman "frequently called the meeting to order and kept it well in hand. The Conference by 1.651,000 votes to 361,300 rejected Mr Sexton's amendment, and delegates will therefore participate in tlio Conference. ! I ITALIANS AND BELGIANS | DECLINE INVITATION. I ! Italian find Belgian Socialists have resolved not to participate in the conference. i
