Mrs Sheard told the board last week that she was quite willing her husband, who enlisted voluntarily, in a ballot. He explained that he enshould go on homo service until called listed without her consent, and she contended that it would be unjust to her and to their son to let him leave Xcjbl Zealand just now, "My reasons,''' sha said, " are purely domestic, and the differences can only be. settled by having my husband near at hand."

When the. case, came before the board again to-day, a, letter was read from Mrs Sheard, "I don't know what my husband ha.s put into your office," she wrote, "hut. tor my benefit 1 wish you would send him abroad with the next reinforcements. As for extra leave. why, h e has more- leave in Gliristehiirch than he has in camp, and as he has just had fifteen days days' pay stopped, I think he would be better awav.

Major K. M. Grcsson, military representative, stated that the Citizens' Defence Corps and others- had taken the case in hand and were writing to the authorities on Mrs Shenrd's behalf. Delays were una/voidable, hj? said, but thoso interested were doing all they could. Mrs Slier,rd now wished her husband to go into camp as soon as possible. The board decided no* to make any recommendation on the application.
