DUNEDTN, August 10. a meeting of the executive of the National Welfare Association the opin>on was expressed that there were plenty of married men prepared to go to the front provided tho Government made provision for their dependents and kept down the present cost of living. It wa,s unanimously resolved, ''That this meeting enters its emphatic protest against any attempt on the part of ihe Government to send .young lads to the front., and records its determination 10 resist any such effort to the utmost, further, that a telegram be sent to the Minister of Defence informing him that, anv such action will not he tolerated, us there ;*re plenty of men who should be called up before immature lads are sent ®waj." ______
