PRIVATE THOMAS H. SHERIDAN
Private Thomas H. Sheridan, who was killed in action on June 7 S was the second .son of Mrs M. Sheridan, of YVaikori. He was horn and educated at Waikari, and at. the time of his death was twenty-nine years of age. On leaving school lie entered the employment of Mr L. Crow levy, and later devoted himself largely to mustering;. He
was a prominent member of the \Yaikari Collie Club, and took a very 7 keeninterest in dog (rials, and as a- competitor annexed quite a laiiio number cf medals, flips and championships. He was a member of the Waikari Lodge of Oddfellows. His eldest brother left with the Twenty-seventh Reinforcements, the deceased having been a member of the Seventeenth Reinforcements. RIFLEMAN W. READ. Rifleman \Y. Read (killed in action) was the only son of 31 r YV. Read, i'2, Barrington Street, Spreydon. and was a native of Christchurcli. He was twenty-one, years of age, and prior to
enlistment was in the employ of the M'Lean Institute as a gardener. He enlisted with Lord Liverpool's Own, and v as wounded in action in June, 191(i.
