The "New York Timer,'" "Washington correspondent states that an official report ha.s been received in AY ashing! on that Germany has completed a small number of submarines capable, of submerging for two .hundred feet. Such an achievement will add to the submarine problem, as this typo of submersible- is able to dive under nets. It, is believed that this is par-t of Germany's frantic endeavour to prevent the bottling-up of tho U-boats in the Baltic and elsewhere. COLONIAL MAIL SERVICE. AUSTRALASIA MAY BE ISOLATED. AVebster, PostmasterGeneral, states that at, present Australia has only a chance service, and if the submarine menace continues the position may be one of isolation.
