It is believed that the purpose of the rail is to meet an expected drive by the Allies whon the Americans are ready. Reports t-»t!ie State Department indicate that Germany is short by 000,000 bushels of the wheat required before harvest. Crop prospects are reported to be pood in 'West Germany, but in other parts crops were injured hv dry weather and also by frost. The Gorman Government is said io be requisitioning one out of every two head of cattle. It is rumoured that part of the provisions sent from flu; United Statos for Belgian relief work was consumed in a German hospital at Antwerp.
