AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S TIIKATRE. His Majesty's Theatre will be opened to-niorrow by the Fuller management as its ho me of vaudeville in Christchurch. Two performances will be, given, ono at 'J 30 p.m. and the. other at 8 p.m. The initial attraction will be the Walter Johnson Wovue Company. who will present " Tho Railway Tangle," a humorous musical piay which contains many novelties, catchy songs and pretty ballets, and scenic effects. The company is considered to be one of the star turns on the Fuller circuit, and for some weeks past has been drawing crowded houses in Wellington. In addition to the revise, the programme, will contain several vaudeville turns. These are headed by tho Royal Togos, two clever Japanese equilibrists, who conclude their performance with a sensational ''Slide- for L'fe ' on a. rope .stretched from the ba'eony to the stage. Operatic and ballad numbers will bo contributed singly and as duets by Antonio and Signora Molinari, and humorous items will be supplied bv Tim and Gertie Moore. The box plans for Saturday afternoon and evening are at Messrs Milncr and Thompson's.

"THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT." The popularity of the J. C. Williamson pantomime, "The House that Jack Built," still continMos, and last evening the, Theatre Royal was crowded at an early hour. The performance was again very successful, and the principals, especially Hilda Guivor as the principal boy, Arthur Stigant as the Dame, and Maggie Dickinson as the i'airy Sunbeam, were accorded hearty applause.

The pantomime will bo repeated tonight, and to-morrow the una! matinee will he held, commencing at 1.4."5 p.m. The Christchureli season will terminate on Tuesday evening.

COLOSSEUM SKATING RTXK. The popularity of the Colosseum Skating 15ink was well maintained at. each of yesterday'* sessions, the able tuition at the disposal of • would-ber skaters daily increasing the number of the patrons of the rink, which is we'l described as tlio premier of its kind in the Dominion. Dunn's Brass Hand will play appropriate selections at to-night's session from 7.30.
