FOUB GERMAN STEAMERS CAPTURED,
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 18, 8.-55 a.m.) LONDON, July 17. British destroyers' captured four German steamers in the North Sea.

TWO VESSELS DAMAGED BY BRITISH GUN FIRE.
The High Commissioner r^wrte — LONDON. July 17, 3 p.m. The Admiralty reports:--On Monday a number of German merchantmen were, lighted in the North Sea. Disregarding signals, they made off in the direction of the Dutch roast.. 'JVo reached the shore badly damaged by our gun fire. Four others worn captured, two crows escaping and the others being niado prisoners. The ships captured wore the Pollworm, Drietzip:, Mariehorn and Hciuz Bluinberg.

The Admiralty reports that a patrollinp; force in the North Sea yesterday .sighted a number of Gorman steamers, which disregarded orders to stop and headed for the Dutch coast. Two of them reached the coast badly damaged by the British lire. The remaining tour were capiMred and brought to port. The crews of two of the ships are prisoners, and the crews of the other two abandoned their ships and escaped.
