COLD STORAGE REPARTEE.
Air Raymond - Blathwayt, a London newspaper man and author, lots the cat out of the bag of a famous election retort which has lu'en printed and reprinted all around the globe during the last twenty years. When the then youthful Lord Carmarthen was "contesting'an election at Brixton for a seat in the House of Commons, his speech was interrupted by tho interjection: " Does your mother know you're out?"
'•Yes; and on Tuesday ahe'll know I'm in." Lady Carmarthen, now Duchess cf Leeds, recently told Blathwayt that the story was perfectly true, "because we sent out one of the footmen with instructions to call out that very question."
