Members of the City Roonrting Committee were informed by General Robin to-dav that Section fir, of the Military Service Act. which makes special provision For the calling up of members of one, family, will be put into operation as from the enrolment of the first division, which will bo commenced on , September 1. Tho section in question, which is designed to meet the eases of certain families from which no members have enlisted, provides that if the Minister of Defence is satisfied with respect to any family that consists of or includes two or more brothers who belong to tho first division and who are not permanently unlit for military service, he may at'any iime after the enrolment of tho first division give all or any of them notice to show cnuso to the Military Service Board why they should not be' called upon for service.
