At the annual meeting of the "West Melton Branch of tho Bed Cross Society, the secretary's report showed that over £l3O had been raised for fled Cross' purposes; in addition to this, £1 5b had been contributed for Christinas gifts for men at the front. Since February, £2 10s, tho proceeds from afternoon tea. had been donated for hospital comforts. Luring the two.vo months the branch had been at work the following articles had been sent away:—Seven hundred end nine roller bandages 355 triangulars, 157 binders, 70 inanitails, 2762 swabs,. 178 operation c.oths, 114 diet cloths, 124 fomentations, 49. face cloths '2O jug covers, 17 veils, 163 bottle covers' ice bags and wringers, quantity medicine cloths, 16 packages soap, 2 dressing"owns 26 pyjamas, 34 nightshirts, 10 btf pairs mittens, SO pUow-slipA <S .r^'i, *""<-. soldiers' bags. 5 **" ' " '"-''±-3 [
