WAISTCOATS FOR SOLDIERS.
Tho Canterb\irv Branch of the Lady Liverpcol Fund has decided to provide a_ leather waistcoat to each member of tho Sixteenth and Seventeenth Reinforcements from the Canterbury district. Tbe waistcoats wi'l be given to tho men beforo leaving New Zealand, so as to be of use on the voyage, and the Maureen makes an urerfrit. # appeal for funds. There is on'.y a fortnight in which to obtain tho waistcoats, and Mrs Holland hopes for a, prompt response •
