GIRL'S NARROW ESCAPE.
A young girl who was driving along Churchill Street this morning at about 10.Jo narrowly escaped serious injury through the horse swerving over tho kerbing of tho side channel ami throwing her out on to the asphalt. ,'J'he horso galloped along the footpath coming into contact with the telegraph poles and tho fences, from which several sheets of iron wero torn. Mr C J. Lafferty, of the telegraph d'epartmont, found the girl unconscious, but she soon recovered, and suffered no apparent injury other than shock. Sh-i was taken into a bouso near by.
