THREAT TO STRIKE.
FLAXMILL WORKERS' LETTER. REFERRED TO CROWN LAW OFFICE. [From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, June *2O. By means of an urgent inquiry to the Minister of Labour, Mr W. H. Field (Olaki) called- attention- to the publicly announced threats of persons claiming to represent ' the .. ilaxmill workers, that a general strike will follow the passage of the Military Service Bill. Mr Field asked what steps had been taken to deal with the individuals, as there was grave reason to fear that if their plans were carried out the majority .of flaxmill employees. whose loyalty was undoubted, would be drawn into industrial strife. Sir Massey replied:—All I can say is that tho document referred to has been l-eferredi to the Crown Law Office.
