CARMANIAN'S FATE.

CREW RESCUED BY CLIFF LADDERS. The High Commissioner reports: LONDON, April 2S (4.15 p.m.) On Tuesday the Norwegian barque Carmanian was sunk by tho gunfire of a German submarine ou miles off the west coa-st of Ireland. The creiv took to boats and the submarine immediately left them. One boat/ capsized and tho other, containing the captain and nine men, landed on tbe wesf, coast of Ireland, and they were rescued by cliff ladders.
