ARMLETS PROBLEM.
ISSUED, BUT NOT WORN. Although large numbers of armlets have been issued at the Government Recruiting Oifi.ce, both for " unfit" and " waiting" recruits, the experience in Ch.ristcb.vrcb. is eimil.ar to that in' Wellington, that the badges are not being worn, in full view of '"shlrkors" and other paseers-by. ■ The reeson. for this, unexpected lack of display is believed, by many competent to judge, to bedue to the inartistic nature and excessive Bire cf the badges issued. These armlets have afforded fruitful ground for alleged humorists, and the. fact cannot be got over that man? men entitled to wear the armlets 'sbyolutAly decline to avail themselves of the privilege. It would be, apparently, n popular innovation if the present arnitets were withdrawn and a small button badge or similar decoration issued.
