The Lyttelton Patriotic Carnival committee" met in the Lyttelton Borough Council Chambers on Saturday ■night, the Mayor, Mr W. Radcliffe, presiding. The secretary reported that arrangements for the fancy fair and produce sale.to be held in the Drillshod on Saturday next, were proceeding satisfactorily. The. necessary allocation of stalls and side-shows had been carried out and stallholder* had been requested to be in attendance on Friday evening next. The treasurer, Mr J. Young, reported that he bad received the sum of £22 from Mrs J. A. Newell, the m-oceeds of the recent concert given by 'the Shakespearian and Calliope Club- A heartv vote of thanks was accorded the club for its successful ♦'(forts.
