CITY IN FLAMES. BLAZE DUE TO EXPLOSION. SPARK FALLS 1 TANK CAR OF GASOLINE. MANY CRUSHED UNDER CRUMBLING WALLS. ( B? Telejrraph.—Press Association. —Oonrrisnt (Tteeeivod September 20, 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 28. In Ardmora, Oklaboma, a spark from a workman's hammer ignited a tank car of gasoline and two city blocks were razed as a, result of the explosion. Thirty-five bodies have been recovered and fifty persons are believed to h-avc been crashed to death under falling walls. A search in proceeding at a large departmental store, where it is feared are the bodies of many girls, women shoppers and employees. A score of fires wero by the fiarnmg gasoline, which was thrown for j blocks. ) Martial law was c'eclared. A panic followed tlio explosion, every building on either side of the main street being demolished. Over the splintered buildings for bloeks around the flaming gasoline was thrown, starting scores of fires. Rescue parties were quickly formed. All communication with tho outside world was cut off for fivo hours. Two hui.drect injured are in the hospital.
