INTENSE BOMBARDMENT. , OPERATIONS CHECKED IN VOSGES By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received September 28, 1 p-m.) PARIS, September 27. A communique says:— We maintained our position in Artois and maintained the advance east of Souchez. Fighting proceeds with bombs and torpedoes at Audechy. The enemy bombarded 1 our positions at Quenno-, vieres. We replied vigorously. Tenacious fighting continues on the entire Champagne front. We occupied several positions behind our new front wherein the enemy had remained. There has been an intense bombardment between the Meuse and the Moselle, and also in Lorraine. A violent storm brought operations in tho Vosges to a standstill. '
