THE WEATHER.
Fine weather conditions were again prevalent in Christchurch to-day. A strong breeze from the north-ea.st was responsible for a cool atmosphere. The weather in New Zealand was fair, generally. Passing showers were in evidence at Auckland, and all northernmost stations cloudy skiesSimilar conditions prevailed .at Cape Palliser and East Capo. Blue skies reigued elsewhere in the North Island. Fine spring weather was frequent in the south, the only exceptions being Oamaru, Nuggets and tho Bluff, where overcast skies held _ sway. Light southerly to westerly winds were general in the north, and easterly winds iu the south. Smooth seas and a low barometer predominated throughout the Dominion.
The following is the Government Meteorologist's forecast; Winds—lndications for variable and moderate breezes, but moderate to strong southerly prevailing. ' Weather—Weather probably cool and changeable. Barometer —Tho barometer has a rising tendency.
