NORTH CANTERBURY CLUB.
The North Canterbury Amateur Swimming Club opened tho season this afternoon at the Raugiora- Municipal Baths. There was a fair attendance of members and spectators,
The Mayor, Mr.CI. Jennings, in declaring the season open, said that it was gratifying to know that the bath had bean largely used during the time that it had been open and that it was well serving the primary purpose for which it was intended, namely, the teaching of the young people to swim. He wished the club anotiher successful season, and suggested that the ladies should have swimming races of their own. A short programme of events was got off, and afternoon tea was served by the club to all present. Results of events aTe: — 25Yds Handicap—R. Hamilton I, J. Kinley '2. Time—l7scc.
