The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, October 20 (7 p.m.)
Official:—The Belgian army is maintaining its position on line of tbe Yser, where it was violently attacked. Actions are taking place in the region of Ypres,. where the Allied, force is engaged. The Germans continue to hold
strongly the advances to Lille in the direction of Armentieres, Foumes and Le Basse. The enemy vainly attempted to repulse the Allies at ■ the Meuse. Progress was made at various points of the front on October 19.
BOMB OUTRAGE IN MONTREAL
(Received October 22, noon.) OTTAWA, October 21
Nine houses at Montreal, containing Russians, wero blown up by bombs. The j-esidents had a miraculous escape, though several were seriously injured. The body of an Austrian, one of the perpetrators, has been discovered.
