GORE'S MENACE.
DANGER FROM FLOODS. WORK TO BE SUBSIDISED. [Per Press Association - .] GORE, March 18. The Hon W. Fraser arrived in Gore Inst evening. A-deputation from the Gore Borough Council waited on him relative to the flood protection report recently received from the Department's engineers. The Minister promised tq subsidise any work undertaken £1 for £l. The matter "will now be placed before the ratepayers and the work, if undertaken, will be carried out by the Public Works Department. A deputation representing the Gore High School Board of Governors approached the Minister to the local High School having no endowments and suggested the pooling of reserves.
Mr Fraser proposed to placo. the matter before the Minister ,of T Edueation. He advised the local Board to make common cause with other boards similarly placed in an endeavour to find a solution.
