MR HERRIES AT HAWERA. [Per Prkss Association.] HAWERA, March 17. The Hon \V. H. Merries, who is visiting tlio district, replying to a deputation with reference to the Opuuake railway, said that the intention wn,s that the i'io.fKK") voted : lion Id ho spent at once. Tlio route would he decided by the Premier, the Minister of Public Works and the Engineer-in-Cliief. Mr I'earee, M.P.. waited upon the Minister this morning with reference to a complaint as to the shortage of trucks. The Minister replied that lhe present trouble was caused through want of hauhige power. A number of locomotives were ordered, or being built in workshops. When orders nore fulfilled the position would no doubt bo relieved.
