COMMISSION INVESTIGATES. QUESTION OF STATE CONTROL. Ey Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received November 15, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON. November 14. Lord Lorebury, presiding at the Railway Commi6i'on, said that it does not intend to adjudicate on disputes between companies and customers. Mr Marwood, representing the Board of Trade, gavo evidence that the traders' main complaint in regard to inequalities in rates was duo to competition. A common grievance was preference to foreign importers. The Board of Trade desired to ascertain whether Stato control could be developed or something more drastic.
