COLTS v. CANTERBURY. The annaul match between a. Canterbury eleven and a colts thirteen was continued to-day, in fino weather. The colts on the first day had made 180 and the eleven had logt no wickets for 28. ~ Woods and Hayes continued the first wicket partnership, and although they were not brilliant the runs came steadily. After several changes of bowling Donnelly took the ball himself, with the total at 156, and Woods banged the last ball of a maiden high, to point, where Jones took a clever onehanded catch. Hayes went without alteration in tho score, Grant taking him in the slips off Lamb, who had worked his off theory ineffectively up to that point. Bishop and .BryanBrown played up to the luncheon interval, when the score was 167 for two wickets.

The Colts' bowling was becoming entirely worn out and the score, mounted rapidly. Bishop was caught at 24, hut Bryan-Brown and Beale retired as soon as they approached 50. The score at 3 p.m. was 289 for five wiokots. Tho innings closed for 371. The following are the scores:— COLTS. First Innings . - . . . ISS ; CANTERBURY ELEVEN. W. Hayes, c Grant b Lamb . ?.i F.
