CONFER IN WELLINGTON. [Pkr Prbss Association.] WELLINGTON. November 13. The Conference of the Post and -Telegraph Officers' Association, which has been sitting for some time past, arrived at a number of resolutions, the principal among which are that the classification list, compared with other Civil servants, is detrimental to post and telegraph officers. The Conference protests against differentiation, and urges rectification with a general increase in salaries in all grades. Post office sorters who
have clerical duties be placed 111 the clerical division. No deduction should be made from annual leave on account of sick leave; all overtime should be paid for in cash; vacancies worth more tlian per. annum to be filled by male officers, applicants to have right of appealing in. person, or by representative before the Appeal Board, no provision under the Superannuation Act to be less than £1 a The Conference objects to only ttiirtj da>s being allowed to lodgo appeals, as it is considered that that time is vwioll} inadequate, and asks for ninety da}*-, also that the classification list should bo drawn up on .similar lines to the public service list.
