ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS AGAINST ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, November 13. An annual medical examination of ,lie winding enginem&n at gold mines is jrescrioed by the Mining Act Amendn&nt, which was introduced by the Vlinister of Mines yesterday. The Minster, _in explaining this feature, said ;hat it would be dangerous to have a nan with heart disease in such a responsible position. Additional precautions for the safety of miners, such as ;he adequate inspection of mines, the provision of bath houses and the equipment. and training, of rescue and ainbuii jo brigades, are among other features in the measure, which has been referred to the Mines Committee.
