The quotations,, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on the spot: Frozen Meat.—-Mutton—The market remains firm, with a scarcity of prime quality; North Island, 4j[d ; Canterbury is not quoted; Australian, 4d; River Plate,' 4|d. Lamb—The market is firm, with a good' demand for all lamb. Caiv terbury, this season's, is realising 7Jd; other than Canterbury 6§d- Beef— The market is quiet but steady, and the supply plentiful; New Zealand hindquarters 3|d, forequarters BJo. Butter.—The market is dull, ex* cept for best quality. The average prices for the week were :-£For choicest, New Zealand butter, 113s; Australian, 107s; Argentine, 105s; Danish, 1275; Siberian, 109s. Cheese.—The market is quiet, but holders are firm, the demand getting better. The average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese is 60&.6 d.

Hemp.—The market is firm, owing to speculative demand; spot, New Zealand good fair grade. £34 per ton; fair grade, £32 10s; forward shipment about the same price, Fair current Manila, spot, £3-1; forward shipment, £35 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 20,000 balss. Wool.-—The market is strong, and alt stocks are advancing.

Hops.—The market is firm with' a hardening tendency. Grain and Pulse.—Wheat.—The Market is firmer with more demand; New Zealand longberry -wheat, ex granary, per quarter of 4961b,.385; short-ber-ried, 37».
