The* Admiral and officers of the Adj uraa and Soya were entertained by the Federal Government. Mr Fisher said that the geographical relation of Australia and Japan made the countries neighbours. He hoped that the two peoples would always be friends, and would co-operate to enable the friendship to be deep and lasting. 'There was sufficient scope for. all enterprising people, and it could be said that the Japanese enterprise and vigour tad made their name honoured throughout •the world. The Admiral, in replying, said that Japan would always be anxious to enjoy the friendship of the Anglo-Saxou people, whom all his countrymen ad mired. ' 1
