IMPERIAL POLITICS.

THE MIDLOTHIAN SEAT. A TRIANGULAR CONTEST. ; United Press Association—By Electrio < Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 12, 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 11. . For the Midlothian seat, rendered vacant by the elevation of the Master of Elibank to the House of Lords, there will be a three-cornered contest. The Master of Elibank's letter, in whoh, on hearing that the miners intended to nominate their agent, he offered to ask the prospective Liberal candidate to stand for another constituency, is resented in some Liberal circles. The Edinburgh Liberal Executive has nominated Mr Alexander Shaw, barrister, Lord Shaw's son. Major J. A-. Hope is the Unionist candidate. The miners' delegates unanimously recommended Mr Robert Brown's candidature.
