At Saskatoon Tommy Burns defeated Bill Rickard in the sixth of a fifteen round match. Burns played with his opponent until the sixth round, knocking him down onco in nine seconds and again in eight, when tho sheriff stopped the fight. Rickard failed to show even second-rate form. Burns weighed 1851b and Rickard 2051b.
Alderman A. L. Tearney said tonight at Chicago that £2OOO has been deposited with him for Johnson to fight in Australia. Johnson refused to affirm the report, but added that he would enter, the ring as a personal favour to Tearney. . .
