SUPREME COURT.
IN CHAMBERS. Friday, August 9. His Honor Mr Justice Denniston held a sittings in. Chambers this morning. Mr G. R. Butler, on the application of Mr 0. T. J. Alpers, and Mr, T. H. Williams, on the application of Mr T. D. Harman, were admitted solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. Mr Hunter moved for the appointment of guardians in the matter of Robert George Allan "and other infants. An order was made on terms agreed to by the parties. 'The Registrar's report in re R. H. Rhodes, deceased (Mr Beswick) was approved. The matter of executors' commission in re the estate of John Jackson, lata of Timaru (Mr Raymond), was referred to the Registrar to report.
[Pkr Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 9. At the Supremo Court yesterday, before Mr Justice Chapman, Joseph Wilson and Albert Cutbush wero found guilty of having forged the name of E. I-I. Robinson, Hokitika, to a cheque for £2O lis, and were remanded until to-day for sentence.
In the Supremo Court, Joseph Wilson and Albert Cutbush wero sentenced to twelve and eight months' imprisonment respectively for forgery and uttering, tho rC'Sponsibilitw for tho payment of compensation to tho extent of £2O lis to be divided between them. His Honor made a recommendation that they /should be sent to Invercargill gaol. Martin_ William Tier, for breaking and entering and stealing was sent to gaol lor five vears, and was declared an habitual criminal.
