ROAD BOARDS.

MOUNT PEEL. The monthly meeting of the Mount Peel Road Board was attended by Messrs G. J. Dennistoun (chairman) ; Thew, Mackenzie and Dunn. It was decided to hold the ratepayers' meeting on May 6. The Timaru Harbour B.oard wrote asking for the value of. all rateable lands in the district. The clerk said the value was £331,674, hut this was subject to alteration in view of the assessment of Mount Peel and Four Peaks. The Ashburton County Council wrote with regard to approaches to Rangitata bridge. It was agreed to reply that if the Council wished the Board would do the work and send the account to the Council. Board wrote stating that it would allow fourths on Mount Peel runs to tha extent of £337 8s per annum. A petition was received from. Mr W. Thomas and eleven other ratepayers, asking thai Board to erect a stock bridge over the creek on Boundary Road, near Orari Gorge school, and to cut a drain to divert flood water. The clerk was order,ed to inspect and report, and with the Geraldine County Council for the purchase of sufficient timber. The clerk reported that all but- 13s of rates had been collected.
