RICHMOND DOMAIN BOARD.

The annual meeting of the Richmond Domain Board was held on March 12; present—Messrs Q. W. Russell, M.P. (chairman), J. Rowe, W. 11. Lawrence, 11. S. Ward, J. Hughes and K. Bassett (honorary secretary). Apologies wero received from Messrs J. A. Flesher and A. E. Craddoek. The annual report, -which was adopted, dealt with the improvements made in the Domain since the election of the new Board in February, 1911. Nearly all the large pine trees had been out down and removed, permitting more light in the .Domain, which had been cropped with potatoes after being thoroughly ploughed and disced. Directly this crop is removed, the ground will be properly levelled under a surveyor's supervision, and laid down in grass for ft sports ground, and it is hoped that cricket may be played there nest spring. revision was to be made for a number of small games, including bowls, croquet and tennis. Massive wrought-iron gates had been erected at the entrance to tho Domain Road, and tho roadway fenced with corrugated iron. In moving the adoption of tho annual report, Mr G. W. Ho was looking forward to the time when Richmond i i i ll t' |(? middlo of a closely congested suburb and it w aa thoir duty to make tho Domain not only a beauty spot but an athletic park affording a breathing place to the young and old of tho district. The Park would have two of the best football grounds when completed, and lie felt sure that first-clasa matches would soon be played there.

The balance-sheet showed the excess of assets over liabilities to be £1403 18s od. valuing the land at I'Ki.i per aero. The expenditure for tho past year was £62 7s, leaving a credit balance of £18:2 •> Gd, most of which would bo spent in levelling, etc. Mr (r. \V. Russell. M.P., was re-elect-ed chairman find Mr K.
