Running down the back Imperial Polly and Ruby S. were together, with ltalgoorlie and 'Croesus next. Running to'the stand Ruby S. was still in charge from Imperial Polly, Adonis, Kalgoorlio and Croesus running next. Down the hack Imperial Polly stopped, and Medallion put ill a strong run, but could not reach tho leaders. Ruby S. was first into tlio straight, but Croesus came again with a strong run, and just got up in time to win by half a length, with Piecework, who finished fust, ton lengths away, third, John M. was fourth and Adonis fifth. There was a. largo and representative attendance of racing men from all parts of New Zealand at Tattersall's this morning, when Messrs Pyne. and Co. offered the annual drafts of yearlings from the Elderslie and Burnside studs. Bidding was fair tor some of the lots offered, but for others there v/m not such a, keen demand, and several of the yearlings were passed in, oither because they could not elicit a bid or because tho best price offered did not reach the owner's idea of value.
