TATTERSHALL CASTLE.

PURCHASED BY LORD CURZON. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 8, 10 a.m.) LONDON, November 7. Lord Curzon has bought Tattershall Castle, which a cable message of September 21 stated had been sold to an American millionairo to be shifted to America. The historic fireplaces alone have been removed, but it is doubtful whether oven they will be taken to America. (Tho existing part of Tattershall was erected by Lord Cromwell, Lord Treasurer to King Henry VI., in the years 1433 to 1443, and is regarded as the finest specimen of medieval brickwork in the Kingdom. It was reported in September that the castle had been sold to an American, and would be transported in sections across the Atlantic. This statement, however, was incorrect. The castle contained four famous fireplaces, which were used as a model by the architects and artists engaged on the internal decorations of tho House of Commons. These fireplaces have been removed, and, it is said, will be

taken to America. Expert reports are to tho effect that the fireplaces have been badly damaged, but are not beyond repair.)
