A meeting of the Sydenham Brotherhood was hold in the So-cial Hall of the Sydenham Methodist Schoolroom on Sunday afternoon. The Il«v E. Cox presided. Tho speaker for tlio afternoon was Mr C. 11. Ford, who gave an address on " Some .Militarist J fallacies, with special reference to the "Defence Act." Ho dealt especially with tho following statements:—" If you want peace prepare for war," "That war leads to peace," and "That a nation's financial and industrial position depends on its power to defend itself against tho oppression of other nations." Owing to the lateness of the hour, Mr Ford was unable to finish his address and consented to continue "t at +ho meeting*
